ایجاد Virtual Array و Pool در استوریج EMC ViPR 2.0
Having deployed ViPR and discovered physical arrays the next step is to abstract them into Virtual arrays and Pools for consumption. Below youll see examples using our Isilon array,
From the left side select Virtual Assets and then select Virtual Array
On the virtual Array screen click Add
give you Virtual Array a name. Click Save
The edit Virtual array screen opens up. On the top part of the screen we see the name and zoning info. No edits are needed here.
On the bottem part of the screen we see the options that need to be configured.
Click Add Storage System to associate a physical array with the virtual array
We see the 2 physical arrays that ViPR has discovered. Select the Isilon array
Back on the edit Virtual Array screen under the associated Storage systems tab we see the array has been added.
Next we need to add a network to connect on. Click Networks
The Network screen pops up. Select Create IP Network
Give the network a name and click Done
The edit ip network screen pops up. Check the Virtual array you wish to associate this network with then click Add under IP Ports. Note that there is down arrow on the add button. Click that to see the options.
Choose Add Array Ports to associate the host ports with this network.
Select the Isilon array and click Add
The IP port is now added. In the middle of the page click Save
The Virtual array is now setup. To check you can navigate back to Virtual arrays and then open up your new array. You will see the configuration information listed. Besides the Associated storage system,Network, and storage ports you will see that the Isilon storage pool has been associated with this virtual array. Click on it for more details about the pool
Click on Storage Pool
You can also see the port info. go back to the Virtual array screen.
Click storage ports
You can see the associated port.
Add Virtual Pool
Navigate to Virtual Assets, File Virtual Pools
The File Virtual Pool screen pops up. Click Add
Enter the details of the pool. At a minimum it needs to be given a name, description and associated with a Virtual Array. Enabling quotas is optional. Without a quota ViPr can consume the whole physical pool
Choose the Provisioning type, access Protocol(s), and system type
Data protection details max snapshots
Who has access (at this point no tenants have been setup so give access to the provider tenant). Later as you add tenants come back here to give them access
Choose a physical storage pool to use. Click Save
Now ViPR is ready to use this asset to provide services
