شناساندن سرویس های File و Block در EMC ViPR 2.0
After deploying the ViPR controller the next thing to do is add storage resources. This is done through a discovery.
Discover Isilon File
From the dashbard, on the left is a series of buttons. Under the dashboard button is the Physical assets. Click it and on the pop out select “Storage Systems”. Note that these options are only avaliable to the admin user. If you dont see them, on the upper right corner select switch user and switch to the admin user.
The add storage system window appears. Click the add button.
From the storage provider host drop down selct EMC Isilon.
Enter the connection information for you EMC Isilon Cluster for discovery. Note that to discover Isilon, ViPR does not use the SmartConnect FQDN. Instead it uses the SmartConnect service IP.
Click Save
Vipr will connect to the cluster.
Discover VNX block
To discover VNX block services you need to use an SMI-S service provider. Details on setting up a provider can be found here
From the left side select Physical assets, storage systems
Click Add
From the storage provider host drop down select storage provider for EMC VMAX, VNX Block. Enter the connection information for your SMI-S provider. Click Save
The VNX system is discoverd.
We now have discoverd a block and File system for use by ViPR.
